Church Walk CE Primary School

Ulverston

The pupils of Springfield Class held two memory shares with older members of the community. For the first of these the pupils travelled to Canal Foot.

Film: Photographs of Canal Foot taken by pupils with recorded memories from the community of Canal Foot.

Ulverston is a beautiful market town. It was the birthplace of Stan Laurel and you can find out more about him at the Laurel and Hardy Museum. A walk along Ulverston Canal to Canal Foot will reward you with stunning views across the Estuary. Standing over the town is the Hoad, which is modelled on the Eddystone Lighthouse, a climb up to the Hoad offers you stunning views across Morecambe Bay.

The pupils also recommend that you visit Ford Park, the Indoor Market and any of the town's fantastic festivals.

SONG: The pupils also wrote a song with musician Mike Willoughby inspired by the memories they had heard at Canal Foot. Here's a recording of their live performance.
